THE GREEN TOURISM GURU(FREE)

Situated at the foot of the Tatra Mountains, the Slovakian town of Poprad is home yo AquaCity- a luxury spa and leisure complex recently voted the world's greenest resort. By exploting the geothermla properties of a nearby underground lake, the resort is able to provide renewable energy for the whole area. Perhaps the only thing more remarkable than AquaCuty itself is the man behind it, Jan Telensky.

Initially, he trained as a locksmith, a job he excelled at, and tried to better himself by taking a series of evening classes, studying Maths, Russian, Physics and Biology.
In 1969, he moved to England.

At first, his lack of English presented numerous problems. Despite this, he was determined to succeed. During s string of menial jobs, he improved his linguistic skills and saved enough to buy a delicatessen. Tekensky then built the business up and eventually sold it on for 200.000 pounds.
The profit was ploughed into a new venture-property- and before too long, he had built up a substantial portfolio. He quickly became restless again, though, and took part-time job at a secretarial training institute.

He climbed the corporate ladder and became UK sales manager, before raising sufficient capital to set up a rival company. This was soon doing so well that in 1989 he put his former employers out of business, buying them for a sum of around 75000 pounds!

He then returned to his native country and established a plastic recycling business, whilst continuing to expand his operations both at home and abroad, Telensky now employs over 1500 people, with an annual turnover of 70 million pounds.

He married in 1998, and his wife, Alena, originated from Poprad! As a result, he came to love the area- and this led directly to his newest and most incredible venture!

COLDPLAY (FREE)

An icon I am interested in could be one of my favourite groups : Coldplay.
A general public may know Coldplay for their big hits such us ‘Yellow’, ‘Paradise’,
‘Clocks’or ‘Fix You’. But what this group make so special is that despite of their
worldwide popularity, the band has remained protective of how their music is in the
media. So I want to show you a bit more of this band and how they make music with
meaning and emotion.

Coldplay are a British rock band formed in 1996 by Chris Martin and Jonny Buckland
under the name of Pectoralz at the University College of London. After that, Guy
Berryman joined the group and they decided to change their group name as Starfish.
Finally, Will Champion completed the line-up. The band renamed themselves
‘Coldplay’ in 1998.

This group has since released six albums: Parachutes in 2000; A Rush of Blood to the
Head in 2002; X&Y in 2005; Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends in 2008; Mylo
Xyloto in 2011 and finally Ghost Stories and A Head full of Dreams in 2014.
Coldplay has received 43 awards from 117 nominations and they also receive eight
MTV awards. They have also won five Q and received the award for best album by
three of their four albums.

Today Coldplay continue being one of the most popular band in the world. Maybe it is
because how their four complemented personalities show the music they created
together.

From my point of view Coldplay’s music is so amazing and it is one of the few bands
that can make me cry instantly when I am depressed or not and nowadays there are few
bands that can do this.

LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE(FREE)

Researchers have found that laughter has important health benefits because it can relieve stress by releasing endorphins and also by reducing levels of stress hormones such as adrenaline. In addition, laughter can help to clean out the lungs and to exercise a large number of muscles and organs in the body. Non-stop laughing for an hour would burn 500 calories. It is even claimed that laughing can make you live longer. However, for that to happen, Norwegian Sven Svebak says that the outward signs of cheerfulness are less important than a sense of humour. A sense of humour is more of an attitude- an ability to see the funny side of things in all situations. A sense of humour is not genetic, it is something we develop and work on with others. This may be why, Svebak suggests, country people have a bettee-developed sense of humour than people in the city: they have closer communities.

DESCRIBE SOMEONE- MY SOUL SISTER(FREE)

It's time to talk about one of the most important person in my life, my soul sister. I met her three years ago but it seems like we know each other since kindergarten. But this doesn't really matter because since the beginning we have had a great relationship and, of course, is getting stronger and stronger.
She is younger than me so she is studying at high school but this isn't a problem because we chat everyday and we meet every weekend. She is perfect. She knows everything about me. When I have any problem she is always there, at any time. She gives me tips when I can't see things clearly and she support me all the time. We called us as 'Gemes' because we are like twins of different blood. Even sometimes we speak the same at the same time! It's incredible! I'm so lucky to have her in my life and I hope to spend with her as longer as possible.

With her I have learnt the value of friendship.

THE CAMINO DE SANTIAGO(FREE)

The Camino de Santiago is a pilgrimage route to the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in northern Spain, where- according to the legend- the remains of St. James are buried. Pilgrims have been walking this path for hundreds years, and I decided to embark on the journey with my friend two years ago.

We started in Albacete where we bought all the equipment we'd need. and set off. The walk took over a month and it was amazing. Moreover, we made lot of new friends while we were doing the route.

In short, if you decide to do the walk you should take friends with yourself to make life easier and buy good walking boots. I ended uo with holes in mine- and got terrible blisters as well!

SMARTPHONES-EASSY (OBLIGATORY) Practica 10

Have you ever seen a group of teenagers sitting in a cafe and instead of talking each other they are using their mobile phones? Nowadays it is an habit that many people are carrying on with themselves and although these type of electric devices are a good way to find information and they help us to stay in contact with everybody, sometimes they can develop addition. Smartphones can be our friends but if we use their more than necessary they will become in our enemies. Because of that, I believe that smartphones have a lot of advantages but also disadvantages that we have to think about.

The most important advantages are: they have the ability to communicate with your friends and family by lots of apps such as Twitter, Skype, Facebook, Whatsapp,…; mobile phones are becoming like computers with the added benefit of portability- you can be connected whenever and wherever you want; you can even use their to listen to music, watch movies, play games and also set an alarm for your waking up… Moreover, smartphones are very important in case of emergency. For example, if you had an accident, your mobile pone would help you to contact with someone.

By contrast, there are many drawbacks about these type of devices: they can produce constant interruption- people are always receiving calls, messages and emails and it has become virtually imposible to avoid unneeded interruption; having all your personal information is very convenient but sometimes it is dangerous because there is the possibility that someone else access into your mobile, so it is important to seure you phone; the distration with smartphones could easily cause you to lose control and cause an accident- while it is possible top ut your mobile phone on hands free mode, it is better to wait until your destination and then, pick up it. Finally, another negative aspect is the affect real interaction. There is an addition that causes isolation and this is harmful for someone.

In short, smartphones have a lot of negative and positive aspects. It comes to know how to manage their as better as possible. If we start to think that we have to use smartphones with precaution and avoid be connected all day they can be very useful for us. It is only to be a bit responsable in what are you doing and that is all.

ENDANGERED ANIMALS(FREE)

In my opinion I do not have a strong position of this point but if I have to say something about this topic I could say that I disagree that zoos are a good way if saving endangered species.

Firstly we should ask ourselves this question: Zoos, amusement or prison? Going to a zoo is a very funny experience because you can see a huge breed animal  in only one place, from zebras or tigers to sharks, monkeys or elephants. Even there are certain species that they are endangered such as Bengal tigers. But I think that it is not the best protection option. Zoos does not protect them from extinction; they just conserve zoo animals until they die. And there are many zoos that have their animals in terrible conditions. Imagine the psychological aspect of the animal: staying all its life into four walls! I know that zoos cannot recreate exactly animal’s habitat but when I visit any zoos I always have this urge to unlock the cages of the animals.

From my point of view many animals in the zoos do not need to be in captivity. Worth it having these animals in cages just for entertainment? If we really want to save them we have to regard the idea of protecting their natural habitats.

In zoos there are animals from all over the world, and different places have different temperatures and can affect any animal’s conditions. Most common symptoms are pacing, circling, stress, loneliness and so on.

Captive breeding may allow future generations the chance to experience some of the world’s most endangered animals, but if people can only see these animals in artificial exhibits, like zoos, then what are we achieving?

PROBLEM/SOLUTION(OBLIGATORY) Practica 8

PROBLEM: GLOBAL WARMING
When we talk about the enviroment it is important not to forget that our actions have an impact not only on us, but also on the natural world and other animal’s species. In fact, certain species is now endangered because of our actions. Global warming is one of the worst problems in these days and many of the society do not matter with this: factories does not control the amount of gases they send out, many people do not recycle, ships throw their waste into sea and contaminate water, and people do not use public transport as much as it is necessary. Moreover, we are producing without thinking the effects in nature. Certain countries make threats to stop this problems but, are you seeing these threats? Me not. We need more to cut dow with this as soon as possible.

SOLUTION: GLOBAL WARMING
If we want to finish with this problem, factories should control a bit more what gases are sending in the air; people should be concious that a great way to help the enviroment is to recycle; ship industry needs better waste-control standars and we have to leave parked our own cars and start to use public transport.

Finally, we have to realize that other generations have to arrive here, but if we continue to pollute the planet it will be very difficult for them to live in terrible conditions, wouldn’t it?

TERRORISM- EASSY(OBLIGATORY) Practica 7

We are in the twenty-first century and it seems like we are in a constant and upset time in which using guns and bombs are the best solution to resolve all the problems. It is not only because of Paris’s attempt. Terrorism is a great problem in our global community. It is probably the worst type of crime that ever exits because it only does not kill people, it destroys livehoods, economies and civilized world.

The question is : what does terrorism want? Money? Power? Publicity? Whatever the answer, the is no reason to develop these attacks in worldwide. For example, India faces the problems of poverty, polution and so on. But the major problem there is terrorism. It is a hazard for mankind.

Terrorist have no feelings. Terrorist recognize no rules. Although there are many different groups depending on what their objetives are, they all have one thing in common: kill and detroy whatever they can. They believe in the power of bumbs and guns over dialogue. Moreover, all terrorist acts are well-planned and take days even months to make their happen. Most of terrorists are young people but the brain behind them is usually an old man that recruit and washbrain them.

To sum up, terrorism has become a global threat and needs to be controlled as soon as posible. According to Maulana Sahab, terrorism will persist in one form or another until the ideology of violence is countered with another ideology based on peace. And this is true. We have to start thinking that if we sell weapons to these people we will do attempts whenever they want. The world has to unite in order to stop this. Without terrorism, the Earth would become in a place to live in. No more violence.

FAMILY(FREE)

For me, the person who I most admired is definitely my mother. She has been a great support since I was born. I would define her as a superwoman because she can do many things at the same time. I mean, she is able to work hard every day while she is doing the housework, paying my studies, carrying my sister to her academic and so on.

I think everybody have a hero in their lives, someone who very much admired and you would love to follow his footsteps. Well, my mother is this person for me. She has always been there for me, always trying to provide the best for me even in hard times. She has been and is still my confident, my doctor when I am illness, my psychology when a have any problem, my chef when I do not want to cook, my wise when I cannot see things clearly, when things turn upside down and I do not know what I have to do,and of course, my friend. She does not judge me when I do things badly and I know that she will never defraud me.

Moreover, I bear a striking resemblance to her. Everybody say we are as like as two peas, physical and psychologically. We have upturned nose, slender waist, curly hair and we are small too. Besides, we are painfully shy, cheerful, clumsy, generous and sometimes a bit strict.

Anyway, If I have to choose any person of my family to explain why I admire I will choose my little sweetest mum, who made who am I today and I am so proud of that. Although sometimes we argue about stupid things I love her.

INTRODUCTION AND CONCLUSION 'PHYSICAL INACTIVITY'(OBLIGATORY) Practica 6

INTRODUCTION

Most people want to live as long as possible in the twenty-first century. But if we wish to live longer one of things we have to do is practising sports, and the majority of the society prefer to stand on the sofa all day. It is called 'physical inactivity' and nowadays is getting more and more popular between people. Physical inactivity causes lots of problems in someone's life and from my viewpoint it is a serious problem that must to give up as soon as possible.

CONCLUSION

All in all,if we start to think about the disadvantages of physical inactivity we will realize that it is not profitable for our body. In fact, it can causes physical and emotional drawbacks that affect negatively with the past of the ages. So we have to do things that improve our physical fitness in order to live as long as possible of the best way as possible.

GROWING UP(FREE)

In today’s society trying alcohol or cigarettes is a normal part of growing up in modern teenagers. They believe that having a good time with friends is just drinking and smoking and the majority of them are underage.
Deciding whether to drink or smoke is a personal decision that each one have to make but sometimes teenagers suffer pressure from others and although this person did not want to try it they finally accept and start to drink or smoke. But what really matter is that this can develop in a adiction. These people do not know the negative causes of this and when they go out they are only thinking about buying alcohol and cigarettes and going on a drinking binge.
Personally I do not disagree with not to drink or smoke but I believe that nowadays teenagers do not know how to have a good time with friends without smoking and drinking. I mean, most of them lose control because when they drink, they drink more heavily than adults.
Teenagers sometimes drink because they think alcohol makes it easier to meet other people, relaxes their social inhibitions and helps them have more fun. But for a few, drinking in adolescence can lead to immediate harm and more chronic problems ore ven adiction. For some teenagers, alcohol use can be a sign of social mental health problems.

Finally, in order to drink or smoke safetly could be: eat well before you leave home because a full stomach slows the absorption of alcohol, don’t get into a car with a driver who has been drinking, don’t leave drinks unattended and don’t accept a drink from a stranger and decide on a drink limit and stick to it.

DO WHAT YOU REALLY WANT TO DO(FREE)

From 6 to 15 years old I have been practising swimming and dancing. I really loved them because with swimming I could relax when I was nervous or depressed with something or somebody. I think that swimming is a perfect way to loose yourself and needs to be in someone’s lifestyle because it has lots of benefits for your body especially if you have bone problems and because of that I started to swim. I liked all swimming styles but favourite was backstroke.

Moreover, while I was swimming I was dancing too. I went to an academy and I used to dance all kind of music: disco dance, flamenco dance, hip-hop, zumba,..., and I believe it has been the best option I have made in life because I LOVE dancing. For me dancing goes beyond being simply movements at the beat of music. It helped me a lot, when life went down and I didn’t know how to cope. And though I finished up since 3 years I usually dancing with my friends when we go clubbing.
For the other hand, I have never tried any dangerous sports. I am a very fearful person and the most I’ve done is sea diving  and that is all so I prefer watching them on TV and not to take risks.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU HIT THE JACKPOT?(FREE)

I think that winning the lottery is like a dream, because you have to be very lucky but if one day lucky came to me and I won the jackpot and do not know exactly what I would do.
I could imagine myself, at the first time, bursting into tears with all my family and celebrating it with champagne and a big dinner. I would not like to go public.

Next day, I suppose I would start to meditate about what to do with the prize. At first, I would sell my flat and build a house in the countryside near my grandparents because they were as a parents for me when I was a little girl and I would like to stay with them as much near as possible. After that, I would travel around the world. I know everybody say that but it is the truth! Imagine: Paris, Rome, New York, Bora Bora and so on.
And then, I would distribute the money in three parts: I would save 50%, spend 30% and 20% it would go to charities in the third world, who need money much more than I.

But apart from all of this, apart from all this luxury life, from my viewpoint winning the lottery is not the answer to all my problems. It could resolve more of them especially in terms economics. Lottery carries along money, new clothes, journeys, cars and so on. But what lottery can not have is health and love. And this it is more important to have in your life than winning a lottery ticket.

LIVING IN THE CITY VS LIVING IN THE COUNTRY(OBLIGATORY) Practica 4

Living in the countryside is very different than living in the city.
There are some reasons that people prefer to live in the countryside such as peace and quite, less trouble, privacy, beautiful scenery, fresh smelling air, no nosy neighbours,... However, living in the city has also positive aspects like for example job opportunities, access to services, education, communication,...
For those people who prefer city than country believe that it has a lot of advantages. Firstly, there are a lot of working places in the city so it will be easier to find a job there than in the countryside. Secondly, you can buy whatever you need in a big city. In opposite, people who live in the country don't have wide choice of shops or services. Another positive aspect of city life is that transport is very accesible. Public transport, by way of subways, taxis, trains and so on, make someone's life more comfortable. Moreover, there a lot of activites to do in the city. There are theaters, cinemas, museums, zoos, restaurants and sporting events.
For the other hand, village has clean air and the enviroment is very beautiful. It has not lot of vehicles, so roads are less dangerous than roads in cities. Besides, in rural areas you are left alone to do whatever you want so there is a great libertarian streak. And in terms of free time and entertainment, the activities you can do in the country consist of boating, riding, cycling,..
To sum up, living in different atmosphere could affect in your life. So, what do you prefer? Big metropolis or big yard? Culture or nature?

PARIS(FREE)

If I had to spend my holidays in somewhere I would defenilty choose Paris. I know it is a tipical destination for many people but I think it is one of the most beautiful places in the world. It is called ‘the city of the lights’ and I am sure that people who really love this city decide to go back year after year, to revisit favourite sites, museums, streets, restaurant and so on.

If you want to go there, the best way is to catch a plane and when you are in the city you will find some great places of interest to keep you entertained. You have to visit the city from different perspectives. I mean, you have to visit it by boat, bus, train or on foot and you can discover the iconic and historic sights and landmarks that makes Paris so famous.

Apart from that, in terms of iconic monuments the most famous are for example the Arc of Triomphe. Not only is this one of the most photographed buildings in Paris, but it is one of the most significant in terms of Paris’ social history. Another one is Notre Dame Cathedral and if you climb the two towers you will see a breathtaking scenery of central Paris. And the most famous building is of course The Eiffel Tower, the symbol of Paris which everybody knows.

To end, If you want to go to Paris you have to make a stop at Disneyland. It will be you best decisión ever. I suggest spending one or two days to visit it. I think it is a perfect way to stay with your friends or family and you will become a child again.

It has become clear that the best place in the world is Paris so you must go there al least one in your life.

OPINION PARAGRAPH- Dogs can't be in parks.(OBLIGATORY) Practica 3

Recently there are more and more people that would like to ban the entry of dogs in parks because they think they are a nuisance for them. From my point of view I totally disagree with this. Like any person, dogs must have the oportunity of running, jumping and playing with other dogs in a own atmosphere for them. But it is true that if you want to take your dog in any park you should have a control over your pet. I mean, you have to pick up after your dog or be careful that it does not bother anyone. There are not much cities with places in which a dog can stay in there, so parks is possibly the best option for them. And of course, it could be a terrific oportunity for children, because they can play with them while they are learning to respect and to share. Because, after all, dogs are human’s best friend.

GIANT'S CAUSEWAY-Description (FREE)

The Giant’s Causeway is one of the most popular destination in the UK. It is located in Northerm Ireland and it was created 60 million years ago when a field of lava cooled and formed lots of blocks.

This is the scientific description of the landscape but there is a legend of this formation. According to legend, the columns are the remains of a causeway built by a giant. The story goes that the Irish giant Fionn was challenged to a fight by the Scottish giant Benandonner. Fionn accepted the challenge and built the causeway across the North Channel so that the two giants could meet.

As we can see, most of the columns are hexagonal, although there are some with five or four sides.

The lanscape makes someone feel peaceful and lively and it is a perfect destination for seeing the sunrise.

Who does not remember this stage? Everybody have different opinion of their childhood; some of them have bad memories and others simply wish to go back and stay there forever. From my point of view I think it is an awsome and a very important part in someone’s life.

I passed the first four years at my grandparent’s house because my parents worked really early, so that my grandmother became in a mother for me. For the other hand, my grandfather was a fantastic support.

When I was a little girl I used to think that animals could talk, I believed that each star in the sky were people who did not like to live in the Earth and I wished to be a Disney princess.
Recently I read that the type of emotional support that a child receives during the first three and a half years has an effect on education, social life and romantic relationships even 20 or 30 years later.

What do you think of this? Do you think that our childhood could have had an impact on us?

In my opinion I agree with this. I love waching videos of me when I was young and remember those moments. No homework. No stress. No exams. No problems in life. So I am going to carry my childhood forever, because if you carry it with you, you never become older.

Wish you were here(FREE)

Remember the first time when I saw you

Thinking one day we'll be the lucky too
I looked at you and your beautiful hair

Give me your hand and we'll go somewhere

I will take you down the city for a ride
Spend the night together by the river on the west side
I wish you were here
I wish you were here
I wish you were here
I wish you were here

If I knew then what I know now
And that one day we would say goodbye
So many things that will left unsaid
Remember your necked back on my bed

I will take you down the city for a ride
Spend the night together by the river on the west side
I wish you were here
I wish you were here
I wish you were here
I wish you were here

I will take you down the city for a ride
Spend the night together by the river on the west side
I wish you were here
I wish you were here
I wish you were here
I wish you were here

My own poem(OBLIGATORY) Practica 2

FEAR
Fear of arriving early.
Fear of arriving late.
Fear of darkness.
Fear of loneliness.
Fear of electrical storms.
Fear of future.
Fear of claustrophobia.
Fear of reality.
Fear of talking in public.
Fear of fire.
Fear of not being remembered.
Fear of nightmares.
Fear of horror films.
Fear of depression.
Fear of not being a good daughter.
Fear of pain.
Fear of failure.
Fear of saying goodbye.
Fear of losing someone important.
Fear of myself.

I’ve said that.

Beautiful cities in my country(OBLIGATORY) Practica 1

If you want to travel to Spain there are several beautiful cities you should go. We know that Barcelona and Madrid have an important role in economics or comercial terms, but Spain goes beyond these two metropoles. One of the most beautiful cities is Segovia. It boasts an amazing cathedral, historic aqueducts and a delicious gastronomy. Another city is Salamanca. This city is very welcoming because of its student's atmosphere and wealth of discos and it has one of the oldest university in Spain.
In the south of Spain, there are many wonderful cities such us Seville with lively festivals and a lot of beautiful and important landmarks like 'La Giralda', 'The Seville Cathedral' or 'Barrio de Santa Cruz'.
Finally, Spain has one of the most beautiful islands of Europe and they are divided between Canary Islands, which are popular for their beaches and mild climate and

Balearic Islands, which counts with a typical folklore that is characterized by festival and ceremonial dances.
