THE GREEN TOURISM GURU(FREE)

Situated at the foot of the Tatra Mountains, the Slovakian town of Poprad is home yo AquaCity- a luxury spa and leisure complex recently voted the world's greenest resort. By exploting the geothermla properties of a nearby underground lake, the resort is able to provide renewable energy for the whole area. Perhaps the only thing more remarkable than AquaCuty itself is the man behind it, Jan Telensky.

Initially, he trained as a locksmith, a job he excelled at, and tried to better himself by taking a series of evening classes, studying Maths, Russian, Physics and Biology.
In 1969, he moved to England.

At first, his lack of English presented numerous problems. Despite this, he was determined to succeed. During s string of menial jobs, he improved his linguistic skills and saved enough to buy a delicatessen. Tekensky then built the business up and eventually sold it on for 200.000 pounds.
The profit was ploughed into a new venture-property- and before too long, he had built up a substantial portfolio. He quickly became restless again, though, and took part-time job at a secretarial training institute.

He climbed the corporate ladder and became UK sales manager, before raising sufficient capital to set up a rival company. This was soon doing so well that in 1989 he put his former employers out of business, buying them for a sum of around 75000 pounds!

He then returned to his native country and established a plastic recycling business, whilst continuing to expand his operations both at home and abroad, Telensky now employs over 1500 people, with an annual turnover of 70 million pounds.

He married in 1998, and his wife, Alena, originated from Poprad! As a result, he came to love the area- and this led directly to his newest and most incredible venture!

COLDPLAY (FREE)

An icon I am interested in could be one of my favourite groups : Coldplay.
A general public may know Coldplay for their big hits such us ‘Yellow’, ‘Paradise’,
‘Clocks’or ‘Fix You’. But what this group make so special is that despite of their
worldwide popularity, the band has remained protective of how their music is in the
media. So I want to show you a bit more of this band and how they make music with
meaning and emotion.

Coldplay are a British rock band formed in 1996 by Chris Martin and Jonny Buckland
under the name of Pectoralz at the University College of London. After that, Guy
Berryman joined the group and they decided to change their group name as Starfish.
Finally, Will Champion completed the line-up. The band renamed themselves
‘Coldplay’ in 1998.

This group has since released six albums: Parachutes in 2000; A Rush of Blood to the
Head in 2002; X&Y in 2005; Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends in 2008; Mylo
Xyloto in 2011 and finally Ghost Stories and A Head full of Dreams in 2014.
Coldplay has received 43 awards from 117 nominations and they also receive eight
MTV awards. They have also won five Q and received the award for best album by
three of their four albums.

Today Coldplay continue being one of the most popular band in the world. Maybe it is
because how their four complemented personalities show the music they created
together.

From my point of view Coldplay’s music is so amazing and it is one of the few bands
that can make me cry instantly when I am depressed or not and nowadays there are few
bands that can do this.

LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE(FREE)

Researchers have found that laughter has important health benefits because it can relieve stress by releasing endorphins and also by reducing levels of stress hormones such as adrenaline. In addition, laughter can help to clean out the lungs and to exercise a large number of muscles and organs in the body. Non-stop laughing for an hour would burn 500 calories. It is even claimed that laughing can make you live longer. However, for that to happen, Norwegian Sven Svebak says that the outward signs of cheerfulness are less important than a sense of humour. A sense of humour is more of an attitude- an ability to see the funny side of things in all situations. A sense of humour is not genetic, it is something we develop and work on with others. This may be why, Svebak suggests, country people have a bettee-developed sense of humour than people in the city: they have closer communities.
